High Chemical Reactivity: As the simplest homotrisubstituted tertiary amine, triethylamine exhibits the characteristic reactivity of tertiary amines, including salt formation and oxidation.
Excellent Solubility in Organic Solvents: Triethylamine is readily soluble in ethanol and ether and slightly soluble in water, making it suitable for a wide range of organic synthesis and industrial processes.
Stable Liquid Form with Convenient Handling: It is a colorless to light yellow transparent liquid with a relatively low boiling point of 89.5°C, facilitating storage, transfer, and processing under appropriate conditions.
Alkaline Properties for Broad Applications: Its alkaline aqueous solution and tertiary amine characteristics make triethylamine a valuable base and reaction intermediate in chemical and pharmaceutical manufacturing.

ABOUT THE PRODUCT
Product Description
Product Description-Triethylamine CAS#121-44-8
The simplest homotrisubstituted tertiary amine, with typical tertiary amine properties (salt formation, oxidation) and no reactivity in the Hinsberg reaction.
Colorless to light yellow transparent liquid with a strong ammonia-like odor, slightly fuming in air. Boiling point 89.5°C, relative density 0.70 (water=1), vapor density 3.48 (air=1). Slightly soluble in water, miscible with ethanol and ether; aqueous solution is alkaline.
Flammable, vapor forms explosive mixtures with air at 1.2%–8.0% concentration. Toxic and highly irritating, handle with safety precautions.
Product Applications-Triethylamine CAS#121-44-8
Widely used as a solvent and raw material in organic synthesis, it is a key intermediate for polycarbonate catalysts, rubber additives, surfactants, preservatives, dyes, fragrances, pesticides, ion-exchange resins and high-energy fuels.
In pharmaceuticals, it is applied to produce antibiotics, ketoconazole, vitamin B6, praziquantel and other active ingredients.
It also acts as an RP-HPLC mobile phase modifier to improve chromatographic separation, and works as a rubber penetrant and waterproofing agent.
