ABOUT THE PRODUCT

Product Description

Product Description-Ammonium Sulfate CAS#7783-20-2

Ammonium sulfate, also known as "sulfate of ammonia," is one of the earliest nitrogen fertilizers produced and used globally. It is often regarded as a standard nitrogen fertilizer, with a nitrogen content typically ranging from 20% to 30%. As a salt formed from a strong acid and a weak base, ammonium sulfate produces an acidic aqueous solution. Classified as an inorganic nitrogen fertilizer with an acidic nature, its long-term, exclusive use can lead to soil acidification and compaction, necessitating soil amendment. Ammonium sulfate cannot be used in the production of organic fertilizers. Furthermore, it should not be applied in combination with alkaline fertilizers, as the resulting double hydrolysis can lead to a loss of fertilizing efficacy.

Product Applications-Ammonium Sulfate CAS#7783-20-2

Ammonium sulfate finds wide applications across biotechnology, pharmaceuticals and industrial manufacturing. It serves as a key reagent for biological preparations, protein precipitation, chromatography, urine testing and culture medium preparation in haploid breeding.

In the pharmaceutical field, it acts as a salting-out agent, a catalyst for food colorants and a nutrient source for yeast cultivation in fresh yeast production. It also works as an auxiliary for acid dyeing processes and a deliming agent in leather treatment.

In chemical manufacturing, it plays an important role in producing hydrogen peroxide and ammonium persulfate, as well as in electroplating and related industrial applications.
