Dimefluthrin is a novel pyrethroid hygienic insecticide, highly effective against mosquitoes resistant to allethrin and prallethrin. It features low formulation dosage down to 0.015%, high safety for humans and no environmental pollution with proper use.

Currently, the GC-ECD method developed by Sumitomo Chemical is commonly used for its detection in mosquito coils, yet it involves complex pretreatment. A more practical analytical method for industrial production is therefore in demand.
