ABOUT THE PRODUCT

Product Description

Product Description-Ferrous sulfate heptahydrate CAS#37782-63-0

Ferrous sulfate, with the chemical formula FeSO₄, most commonly exists as its heptahydrate form FeSO₄·7H₂O (commonly known as green vitriol). Appearing as light blue-green monoclinic crystals with a density of 1.898 g/cm³, it melts in its own water of crystallization at 64°C, dissolves in water to yield acidic aqueous solutions, gradually weathers and oxidizes into yellow-brown basic iron salts when exposed to air, and loses all crystal water to form a white anhydrous powder at approximately 300°C.

Product Applications-Ferrous sulfate heptahydrate CAS#37782-63-0

Ferrous sulfate (also referred to as ferrous sulfate heptahydrate, green vitriol or drying-type ferrous sulfate) has a wide range of industrial and agricultural applications. It acts as a reducing agent in electroplating, a flocculant for industrial wastewater, a precipitating agent for printing and dyeing processes, and a raw material for iron oxide red pigments, pesticides and fertilizers, while also serving as an iron fertilizer for flowers. Widely applied in printing and dyeing, papermaking and wastewater treatment sectors, it performs flocculation, clarification and decolorization for domestic sewage and industrial wastewater, is effective in treating chromium- and cadmium-bearing wastewater, and helps reduce the dosage of neutralizing acid when handling highly alkaline, highly colored wastewater.
