ABOUT THE PRODUCT

Product Description

Product Description-Cumyl Hydroperoxide CAS#80-15-9

Cumene hydroperoxide, an organic peroxide, is a colorless to pale yellow/green mild-odored liquid (MW 152.21; bp 153℃; mp 2–10℃). It is heat-sensitive and explosive, with a flash point of 79℃ and explosive range 0.9–6.5 vol%. Its NFPA-704 ratings: Health 1, Flammability 2, Reactivity 4 (oxidizer). It is sparingly soluble in water.

Product Applications-Cumyl Hydroperoxide CAS#80-15-9

Cumene hydroperoxide prepares polystyrene nanocapsules and cures polyester resins. It acts as an oxidant and radical polymerization initiator, especially for acrylate and methacrylate monomers. It is a key intermediate in the cumene process for phenol and acetone production, an epoxidizing agent for allylic alcohols and fatty esters, and used to synthesize methylstyrene, acetophenone and cumyl alcohol.
