ABOUT THE PRODUCT

Product Description

Product Description-Tetrachloroethylene CAS#127-18-4

Tetrachloroethylene (chemical formula Cl2C=CCl2) is a chlorinate hydrocarbon used as an industrial solvent and cooling liquid in electrical transformers. It is a colorless, volatile, nonflammable liquid with an ether-like odor. The major part of tetrachloroethylene is produced by high temperature chlorinolysis of light hydrocarbons.

Product Applications-Tetrachloroethylene CAS#127-18-4

Tetrachloroethylene is widely used industrially as a solvent, organic synthesis reagent, metal surface cleaner, dry-cleaning agent, desulfurizer and heat-transfer medium, and also serves as an anthelmintic in medicine and an intermediate for producing trichloroethylene and fluorinated organic compounds. With excellent solvency for various inorganic and organic substances including sulfur, iodine, mercuric chloride, aluminum chloride, fats, rubber and resins, it is applicable to metal degreasing, paint removal, dry cleaning, rubber and ink solvents, liquid soap production, high-grade fur and feather degreasing, textile processing and finishing, as well as hookworm and fluke expulsion. People may be exposed to low concentrations of tetrachloroethylene through environmental sources such as air, food and drinking water.
