ABOUT THE PRODUCT

Product Description

Product Description-Silicon carbide CAS#409-21-2

Pale yellow, transparent crystals belonging to the cubic crystal system. They are soluble in molten potassium hydroxide but insoluble in cold water, hot water, and acids. The crystal structure is highly ordered, exhibiting excellent chemical inertness and strong resistance to oxidation and thermal fluctuations. They possess a low coefficient of thermal expansion and a relatively high heat transfer coefficient.

Product Applications-Silicon carbide CAS#409-21-2

Boasting high thermal stability, strength and thermal conductivity, it is widely used for nuclear materials, chemical equipment, high-temperature processing, electric heating elements and resistors. It also makes abrasives, grinding tools, premium refractories and fine ceramics.
