ABOUT THE PRODUCT

Product Description

Product Description-DL-Limonene CAS#138-86-3

Dipentene (DL-limonene) is a colorless, flammable liquid at room temperature with a pleasant lemon-like scent. It is insoluble in water but miscible with ethanol.

Product Applications-DL-Limonene CAS#138-86-3

Dipentene is used in producing enamels, coatings, oil-containing resins, resin waxes, metal driers and solvents, and serves as a feedstock for synthetic resins and rubbers.

In the fragrance industry, it goes into orange-blossom essences, citrus fragrances and other aroma blends, and can substitute for lemon essential oil. Chemically, limonene oxidizes selectively to carvone; with inorganic acids it hydrates to α-terpineol and hydrated terpene diol; under platinum or color catalysts it hydrogenates to para-menthane and dehydrogenates to p-cymene.

It also functions as an oil dispersant, rubber additive and wetting agent.
