ABOUT THE PRODUCT

Product Description

Product Description-CESIUM(I) IODIDE CAS#7789-17-5

Cesium iodide (CsI) and inorganic halides like CsI(Tl) serve as common scintillation media for high-energy-particle and ionizing-radiation detectors. Vacuum-deposited CsI(Tl) thin films were early scintillators deployed for X-ray imaging via photoelectric conversion systems.

In advanced digital X-ray imaging, CsI(Tl) scintillator films are widely adopted. They deliver outstanding X-ray scintillation efficiency, high spatial resolution, and good compatibility with spectral-sensitive silicon readout arrays, supporting high-fidelity, precise imaging.

Product Applications-CESIUM(I) IODIDE CAS#7789-17-5

Cesium iodide crystals are popular scintillators for electromagnetic calorimeters in particle-physics experiments. Thanks to superior infrared transmittance, they also function as optical components for Fourier-transform infrared (FT-IR) spectrometers.

Relative to conventional potassium bromide optics, cesium iodide features a wider transmission window reaching the far-infrared range. Nevertheless, these soft, non-cleaving optical crystals are difficult to polish into flat, high-quality surfaces.

In addition, cesium iodide crystals require dry storage to avoid moisture-induced degradation. Surface germanium coating effectively mitigates humidity damage during spectrometer operation and component replacement.
