ABOUT THE PRODUCT

Product Description

Product Description-Propyl acetate CAS#109-60-4

Propyl acetate (n-propyl acetate) is a colorless, transparent liquid with a mild fruity odor. It occurs naturally in strawberries, bananas and tomatoes, and is soluble in most organic solvents including alcohols, ketones, esters and oils, while only slightly soluble in water.

Product Applications-Propyl acetate CAS#109-60-4

Propyl acetate is an excellent solvent for coatings, printing inks, nitrocellulose lacquers, varnishes and a broad range of resins including nitrocellulose, chlorinated rubber, thermosetting phenolic resins, ethyl cellulose, styrene and methacrylate resins. As a mild, fast-evaporating solvent it is commonly used in flexographic and gravure inks, especially for printing on olefin and polyamide films. It also serves as a solvent in organic synthesis and as an effective industrial dehydrating agent.

With a mild fruity odor that turns pear-like on dilution, propyl acetate occurs naturally in bananas, tomatoes, raspberries and other fruits. Approved as an edible flavoring in China under GB 2760-86, it is mainly used to formulate pear, gooseberry and other fruit flavors, and is widely applied in the flavor and fragrance industry.
