ABOUT THE PRODUCT

Product Description

Product Description-Ethanol CAS#64-17-5

Ethanol (ethyl alcohol): clear, colorless, volatile flammable solvent with characteristic odor. BP ~78.5°C, naturally present in alcoholic beverages. Concentrated: burning taste; dilute: slightly sweet. Used as gasoline additive/substitute and antifreeze due to its MP of -114.5°C.

Product Applications-Ethanol CAS#64-17-5

Medical ethanol (70–85%): disinfectant by protein denaturation; used in medicines, wipes and hand sanitizers. It inhibits toxic metabolite formation by competing for ADH. Fuel ethanol: clean-burning flammable fuel for cooking, replacing wood, charcoal, propane and kerosene. High-purity ethanol: intermediate for chemical, pharmaceutical & cosmetic industries; also for windshield deicing, antifreeze, perfumes and deodorants.
